A Perfect Trio

Well, perfect may be pushing it, but I definitely love this combination of Nars Sheer Glow Foundation, Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer and the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion sponge.

When I first purchased the Nars Sheer Glow I was super excited to try it out. I had heard great things about it and I had always enjoyed the unique colour range that Nars offers ( including their shade entitled "Terre Neuve", shout out to Newf!) To my dismay, it wasn't quite as "sheer" or "glowy" as I'd hoped and I found that it clung to my dry spots. It is a good foundation, but I was unsure if it was worth the hype that it had always received (especially for the $57 price tag).

Although I was disappointed in the foundation, I decided to give the much-talked about concealer a try. Again, I wasn't as impressed as I'd anticipated, but I still thought it was a good product. You can read my full review here.

It wasn't until I decided to give these products a try with the RT Miracle Complexion Sponge ($9 at Lawtons) that I saw the results I'd been hoping for.

After dampening the sponge, it sheered out the foundation beautifully on my skin, making it much more natural and "radiant" looking than with a brush or my fingers. I wanted to see if it would have the same effect on the Radiant Concealer which is quite a thick consistency to begin with. After a few quick stipples of the sponge, it blended it out nicely and I finally felt like the money I spent on these products had been worth it.

Now, this is one of my go-to foundation looks for everyday. I love the way it looks natural on the skin, yet gives a nice, lit-from-within glow.

If you have any foundations or concealers that have been letting you down, try to change up the way you're applying them, like using this sponge or a beauty blender. It could give a whole new life to the product! I know I'll be keeping my close by at all times.
