Friday Favourites

10:20 PM

For myself, Friday is a time to relax, let go of the week, and get in a weekend mindset. I remember when I used to work weekends at Tim Hortons and Friday was a day of dread. Now it is definitely the opposite - perhaps my favourite day of the week.

I thought it would be suiting to start a weekly post each Friday in which I discuss some of my favourite things from the week. Whether it's music, movies, beauty, or just an awesome website, I'll be reflecting on the things that helped me get through the week unscathed.

inthefrow (aka Victoria):  One of my biggest guilty pleasures is spending waaay too much time watching YouTube videos. Whenever I come across a new YouTuber that I enjoy, I tend to binge watch their videos for more hours than I would like to admit. I first discovered Victoria or Inthefrow about a week ago, and have watched almost all of her videos since (girl-crush: engage). She has a lovely personality, is absolutely gorgeous, and has an spot-on taste in fashion and beauty. Maybe her great style has something to do with the fact she is a fashion lecturer and has a Doctorate of Fashion Retail (yep, for real). I would definitely recommend checking out her YouTube channel and blog - both amazing quality with addictive content.

Odesza: I have been listening to this Seattle electronic music duo for the past month, non-stop. Their music is super chill and their unique sound is perfect for background music at work. I have particularly been loving the song Say My Name. It has probably been the most-played song on my iTunes for the past few weeks.

Nuxe Reve de Miel: As soon as there is any sort of chill in the air, my lips tend to shrivel up into a dry, flaky mess. This does not work well with my desire to constantly be wearing a bold lip, so I was determined to find a good lip balm that does the job, and does it well. Alas! I think I have found it in Reve de Miel by french brand Nuxe - a thick, honey scented balm that adds a surge of moisture to the lips. I can apply this before bed and it usually takes me through the next day without having to keep smearing on lip balm all day long. Although it's a lot pricier than most balms, I think its long lasting benefits are definitely worth it. If you live in Canada, you can buy it at Shoppers Drug Mart for around $20. It is also stocked on Amazon!

Nutella Cookies: Nutella + cookies = a match made in baking heaven. I tried out this recipe for five ingredient Nutella cookies earlier this week, and my boyfriend's belly definitely thanked me. This recipe is super easy to make, and the results were delicious! I will definitely be adding these cookies to my inventory if I am need of a quick chocolate fix.

Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians! Enjoy your weekend.
