TOPBOX: NOVEMBER 2014

7:11 PM

I've been quite skeptical of the whole "beauty subscription" phenomenon since I was disappointed month after month by my Ipsy bag. For anyone who is unfamiliar with the concept, a beauty box/bag service mails out a small collection (usually 3-4) of high-end and drugstore beauty/skincare/haircare products (usually deluxe sample size) for a minimal monthly price (anywhere from $10 - $30, depending on the service). After cancelling my subscription with Ipsy, I doubted that I would invest in another beauty subscription service, but after doing a bit of research on the "best of the best" offered in Canada, I decided to subscribe to Topbox for $12.

After waiting on the Topbox waitlist for a couple of months (its that popular!), I was excited to receive my first bag in the mail in September. I have to say, I've been pretty impressed by my monthly beauty goodies so far - not to mention the super quick shipping times.

I got my November Topbox in the mail today. Let's take a look inside:

It always arrives in this cute bubble-wrap packaging.

Each month I opt for the more "environmentally friendly" mesh bag option for packaging instead of the normal box it comes in. It doesn't hurt that I get to see what's inside quicker - hehe.

I was pretty stoked with this month's bag. The contents: a deluxe sample of Benefit's Stay Flawless Primer Stick (full size worth $38) which I have always wanted to try, a sample of Eyeko London's Black Magic Mascara (full size worth $24), a deluxe sample of UniqOne's All-in-One Treatment (full size worth $19.95) and a deluxe sample of crazily-long-named Elizabeth Arden's Flawless Future Powered by Ceramide Caplet Serum (full size worth $72).

Even though these subscription services can be hit or miss, they can add a nice little pick-me-up to the middle of the month.

I definitely think this month's Topbox was worth above and beyond the $12. So far, Topbox has provided me with nothing but pleasant surprises. I can't wait to give everything a try! What is your favourite beauty sample subscription service?
