Weekend Wrap Up

8:12 PM

Ahh, the weekend. I long for it all week, and it comes and goes before I can even appreciate my extra couple hours of sleep.

This weekend was a particularly good one in my books. It started off with some Chinese food on Friday night (always a good thing), followed by my first ever massage therapy session on Saturday morning. My back has been giving me some grief lately, and it's covered under my health insurance, so hey - why not? It was actually so lovely and very informative. The massage therapist had a lot of insight into what has been causing me issues (aka poor posture) and gave me some exercises to try and help mend things. If you're curious, I went to see a lady at Coastal Sports and Wellness and she was great!

After my appointment, my boyfriend and I headed out of town to his parents house, about an hours drive away. It was his aunts 50th birthday (happy birthday Donna!) so they were having a bit of a shindig. It was a great afternoon/evening of food, stories, wine and more food. Oh, and a few heated games of Heads Up!

Tyson's mama and twin sister
I woke up Sunday feeling quite awful (chest congestion, other various winter cold symptoms, bleh) but was determined to make the most of the day. After a lovely brunch, Tyson and I headed back into the city. We made a quick stop at Crescent Beach along the way for a quick walk. Despite the high tide (didn't leave much room for the "beach" part), it was still beautiful. I love the beaches of Nova Scotia's South Shore. Actually, I just love any beach. The most calming of places.

After leaving the beach, we stopped at LaHave Bakery for lunch. This adorable cafe/craft co-op/skate shop is one of my favourite places to eat. It's kind of a hip version of my grandma's house (good comparison? haha). Highly recommended to anyone willing to take a quick road trip out of Halifax to find good food.

Now to spend the evening drinking some tea and wrapping some super early Christmas presents!

I hope you all had a great weekend.
