A few months ago, a new brand seemed to come on the cosmetic scene out of nowhere. All of a sudden, the internet beauty world was flooded with reviews and swatches of ColourPop Cosmetics eye shadows and "lippie stix."
What seemed to set these products apart? Their pigmentation and their price. Every single product offered on the ColourPop website costs $5.00. Not bad!
I'm a sucker for hype, so naturally I placed an order for a few products to try them out. I purchased 3 of their Super Shock Shadows, and one of their Lippie Stix. The total final cost, including shipping to Canada, was $30.
Although ColourPop offers a wide variety of colours and shades - seriously, a crazy amount - I opted to test out more neutral shadows. The three eyeshadows I picked up were: La La, Lovely, and I Heart This (from left to right).
The formula of these shadows is hard to describe. It's not a cream, not a powder, nor a gel. It's somewhere in between. But whatever it is, these shadows are seriously pigmented. They seem to apply the best when I use my fingers (above is just a single swipe!). The only shade that is slightly less impressive in terms of pigmentation is I Heart This.
I only picked up one of their lip shades - 'Fancy' - and if already regret that decision. These are so great! Well, at least this one is. Opaque, creamy, all that good stuff - plus a pretty vanilla scent. Again available in a large range of colours, I want to give their matte finish shades a try next.
