My New Purse Companion: Tangle Teezer Compact Styler

2:43 PM

I've struggled with finding a good hairbrush for most of my life. I am a big wimp when it comes to pain and can't stand when my hair gets tangled, so sometimes I'll just end up avoiding brushing my hair as long as possible so I don't have to be uncomfortable (how sad, but true). For the longest time I developed this "technique" of just ripping a brush through my hair to get it over with quickly - probably not the smartest idea... But thankfully, something has swooped in and changed my hair life!

A few weeks ago I was sent the Tangle Teezer Compact Styler for consideration of review. Although I had heard of the famous UK hair brand before, I was worried I wouldn't like it and would be put in the awkward predicament of saying it wasn't worth the hype (gotta be honest!) - but thankfully, after weeks of testing it out, I can truly say that this little brush has made a huge impact on my daily hair care routine.

The classic Tangle Teezer is known for its tightly packed plastic bristles that make combing through hair a breeze. The Compact Styler does the same thing at about 1/2 the size. For the first time, I actually don't dread brushing my hair. I just use this palm-sized brush to quickly detangle my hair when it's both wet or dry. (It's good to note that I have quite thin hair, but a lot of it, for reference).

I've been particularly enjoying the pint size of it. It fits into almost every purse I own, making it great for my upcoming trip to Mexico. It even has a little "holster" that snaps on so it won't get junk in it while travelling in your handbag.

(Please ignore my dry shampoo residue!)

So, overall, I truly love my Tangle Teezer. The only thing I get hung up on in the price ($25) - but I think it's worth it for somebody like myself who truly wants a painless hairbrush experience.

I know everyone has different opinions on these things, but I wouldn't write a positive review on a product if I didn't mean it. It has made having good hair days a heck of a lot easier!

Tangle Teezer products are now available at Sephora Canada.

  3. Are the bristles of the tangle teezer sharp? Would they hurt if you accidentally scraped them against your scalp?

    1. They're not super sharp! They actually kind of give a nice scalp massage :)
