Canada Day Makeup and the Great Outdoors

8:55 PM

This week we were faced with the oddity that is a holiday on a Wednesday. It's nice in the way that it breaks up the work week, but it's unfortunate that it doesn't create a long weekend. Oh well, a holiday is a holiday! And this week we celebrated Canada Day.

And what better way to celebrate than enjoy some of the beauty that this country has to offer?

Tyson and I spent a good part of the day hiking the local Bluff Wilderness Trail. It was hot as all heck outside but it was a lot of fun to be active and take in some of the Nova Scotia's scenery.

After our hike, we headed downtown for a Canada Day concert and fireworks. And even though the fireworks were cancelled due to our unpredictable weather, I still enjoyed a lovely night of wandering around the boardwalk and gorging myself on a double scoop of Cows Ice Cream, hehe.

I decided to go with a quick, yet festive makeup look for the evening. Whenever I want to feel a little special, I pull out my By Terry Ombre Blackstar Eyeshadow Stick in Misty Rock. It's so simple but it makes it look like I've gone to town with multiple eyeshadow shades and blending techniques.

I was going to go for a patriotic red lip, but opted for a pinkish nude liquid lipstick out of ease-of-use. I seriously love these Rimmel Apocolips Lip Lacquers.
