Honest Everyday Makeup

9:56 PM

I'm always interested in people's daily makeup routine.

Whether you go bare faced or full-on glam, I feel like makeup gives a little bit of insight into what makes you, you. Now, by no means am I saying that makeup defines people (because that is not true, AT ALL), but it is definitely a form of daily self expression.

Now, when I'm writing a blog post about my "everyday makeup routine," I catch my exaggerating. I get caught up in day dreams of fancy winged liner and contoured cheeks, and pretend to be a biiiit more glamorous than I really am on a day-to-day basis. To be honest, I'm a hop out of bed and run type of gal. I'd take an extra 10 minutes of sleep over doing my hair, any day.

This morning as I was getting ready for work, I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to show you my real "every day" makeup look. This is usually what I'll wear to work or hanging out on the weekends.

For the eyes, I usually stick with three main items:
  • An eyebrow pencil or powder (pictured: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Whiz in 'Taupe')
  • A cream eyeshadow (pictured: Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow in 'R.S.V.P.')
  • Mascara (pictured: Cover Girl The Super Sizer Mascara)

For the face, I keep it pretty basic:
  • Concealer under my eyes and on any spots (pictured: Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in 'Vanilla')
  • Powder (pictured: Rimmel Stay Matte Powder)
  • Blush (pictured: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette)
  • And some days: Highlighter (pictured: MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in 'Soft and Gentle')

And for lips, it really varies day-to-day. Today I chose MAC lipstick in 'Syrup'

I'd love to know what's your daily makeup routine if you have one. Leave it in the comments below!

  1. My daily face has since been toned down because I get up so early for work, but I literally used to do the whole made-up, photography style makeup. I posted about it too!
Your daily makeup is so simple, I'm really inspired!
