The age old question: Do you buy one thing for $30, or four things for $20?
Okay, well, maybe it's not an "age old" question, but it's definitely something us makeup purchasers face on a frequent basis. Do you splurge on that new Make Up For Ever foundation at Sephora? Or do you opt for something from Rimmel and have enough money to put gas in your car? Tough times, guys.
I'm of the state of mind that it can be unnecessary to buy expensive products (because sometimes you're just paying for the brand name), but sometimes those insanely pricey products are actually worth it.
Here are the products that I think are "worth the splurge." Well, for me, at least:
The first thing I wanted to mention is the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. This is a super hyped up product, but it really is freakin' amazing. It's the only concealer i've ever used that has done a sufficient job at covering my dark circles. Whenever I wear it, I notice an instant difference in the overall look of my skin, and it doesn't break me out! It makes it a little less painful when it comes to repurchasing it for $35 when my tube runs out.
Next are two Anastasia Beverly Hills products: the Brow Wiz Pencil in 'Taupe' and the Clear Brow Gel. Anastasia is the queen of brows, and these two products are insanely awesome. My favourite thing about the pencil is that it doesn't make my eyebrows look red-toned (which many pencils do), and it's really easy to build up. And for anybody who has brows with a mind of their own, the ABH Brow Gel will give some serious hold to your brows. If you want your brows to stay in perfect shape all day, this stuff does the trick incredibly well.
Next are a couple of things that I'm not going to elaborate on too much (because they are definitely spoken about too much on the internet - sorry guys!). But both the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes and the original Naked Palette (and all the naked palettes really) are freakin' beauty products from the heavens. Definitely live up to dat hype and worth spending a little extra.
And finally is perhaps the most expensive makeup product I've ever purchased. And thankfully, I don't regret it. I picked up the By Terry Ombre Blackstar cream eyeshadow stick while in London last year, and it is THE MOST BEAUTIFUL EYE PRODUCT EVER.
But in all seriousness, it's unique, pigmented, creamy, longwearing and easy to use. All the good stuff. So if you have the opportunity to pick up any of these By Terry shadow sticks, I would highly recommend!
What products do you think are worth the extra dough?
