Ahhh summer. The season of swimming, sun and sandals. And with sandals, comes feet.
Ahhh feet. Perhaps the least attractive part of the human body, which we are expected to show off all summer long.
WELL, SOMETIMES MY HEELS ARE CRACKED AND GROSS, OKAY? YOU FEEL ME? I DON'T KNOW WHY I'M YELLING...
Thankfully, this summer I have had a handy little helper when it comes to keeping my tootsies nice and presentable.
Flexitol heel balm has been my sandal savior. When I was first sent this product as a little spring treat from an awesome Canadian company, I thought to myself "aw, thanks, but isn't this for more, um, senior feet?" But oh, was I too quick to judge.
I started applying this medicated balm to to soles of my feet once every couple of days, and I was surprised at how quickly I noticed results. My heels had gone from moderately rough and dry, to super soft, within a couple of applications.
Flexitol Heel Balm contains 25% urea, which is a a chemical compound naturally found in urine of mammals. But don't worry, you won't be smearing your feet with pee! The synthetic (manufactured) version of this ingredient is commonly used in the treatment of severely dry skin. It's what makes this product so effective. It is also what gives it such a strong medicinal scent, so be warned if you aren't a fan of strongly scented creams. And be sure to wash your hands after applying, so you don't end up transferring any of the products to your eyes!
So if you find yourself suffering from rough, dry, cracked feet this summer (or winter, or whenever), I'd seriously suggest giving this a try! You can pick it up at your local Walmart.
