REVIEW: Fenty Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation

8:52 PM

I know what you're thinking: BITCH WE DON'T CARE BOUT THIS ANYMORE. THIS CAME OUT LIKE TWO YEARS AGO.

Well, you're not wrong. I am very late to the Rihanna Party. But I come in peace! And with a review of what may be my favourite foundation ever. Yeah, that's right, I did not bury the lede. I love this foundation.

For context, I have combination skin. Dry in spots, oily in others. I heard that this foundation wasn't the best for dry skin, but I was hoping that my oilyness would pull through and make it work. Thankfully, it did!

Upon first impressions, I was a little taken back by how liquidy it is. It is runnnnyyyyy, so you have to work fast to get it onto your skin. I find that applying it with a beauty blender works the best. Another reason you have to work fast is because this foundation sets very quickly, and it dries down to a slightly different colour. Confusing, I know. All I can recommend is buying a shade slightly lighter than your skin tone, so hopefully it'll dry down into your perfect shade (in case you live under a rock, there are 40 shades to choose from).

But once you get over the shapeshifting shade and the liquid consistency (which I think occurs because it is watered down by Rihanna's blood, sweat and tears), this foundation is heaven. It really does "filter" your skin, so it looks perfected, without being cakey. I also don't notice that I have anything on my face when I wear it, which is a win for me. It has a slight scent, but it's barely noticeable.

So, would I recommend you give this a try? If you are dry, no, if you are anything else, YES GIRL (OR BOY OR WHOEVER YOU WANT TO BE).
